“Joel has proven to be a dependable blueliner that can step in whenever he’s called upon,” said Nill. “His work ethic makes him an incredibly valuable member of our group, and we’re pleased to have him here for the next two seasons.”

Hanley has played parts of five seasons with Dallas; he has posted 18 points (2-16—18) in 129 regular-season games and three points (1-2—3) in 33 postseason games. In eight NHL seasons, Hanley has played 151 games with Dallas, Arizona and Montreal, earning a total of 24 points (2-22—24).
