NFL wants Cardi B +Maroon5 for the Superbowl 1/2time show?

Last week, there were reports that the NFL had decided on MAROON 5 as the headliner for the Super Bowl Halftime Show . . . and now, rumor has it they also want CARDI B involved.

That would make sense, because Maroon 5 has that new song "Girls Like You" with Cardi . . . and since she's a rapper, it could broaden the appeal of the show.

Cardi doesn't want to show up just to do that song.  Supposedly, she's negotiating for her own solo set as well.

It's unclear whether the NFL would go for that.  But a lot of people have called for a hip-hop artist on the show, because the Super Bowl is being held in Atlanta, where rap is a big deal right now.

But the league is notorious for wanting to play it safe with the halftime show, and Cardi B is enough of a firecracker that it's hard to consider her "safe."

"Girls Like You" is the biggest song in America right now.  It just hit #1 on the Hot 100 . . . dethroning "In My Feelings" by Drake, which had been #1 for 10 weeks.
