OFFICER WAITED OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL DURING THE FLA SHOOTING

It turns out there was an armed deputy on campus at the time of the Florida shooting . . . not a security guard, a member of the sheriff's department who was assigned to the school full-time.  And he knew there was an active shooter.  But he waited outside the school through the whole thing.

His job title was SCHOOL RESOURCE DEPUTY and here the Sheriff clarifies what happened...

His name is Scot Peterson, and the sheriff put him on leave.  He decided to resign because he was eligible for retirement anyway.  This is Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel, the guy who has been on the news and who spoke at CNN's town hall on Wednesday night.
